What Happens To Your Body Within An Hour Of Drinking A Soda

I believe if you lead a healthy lifestyle, exercise and eat right you can "have fun once in a while".

But sodas are one of the things I see people abusing of too often.

Sodas should not be something you drink every day. And most definitely a soda does not count a glass of water, as some people think.

This article shows just what happens to your body when you drink one soda.

Amazing Interview With Terminally Ill Professor

A couple of months ago I posted a video with a lecture called "The last lecture", from Randy Pausch.

Randy is a professor at Carnegie-Mellon University and has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given a few months to live.

His way of looking into the whole thing is truly inspiring.

Instead of being upset about it he rejoices the life he lived and does his best to leave his family well.

The lecture, he says, was for his kids. But it was so powerful it has been featured all over the world.

How To Treat a Minor Burn

While third degree burns require a doctor's care, you can usually treat a first degree or even a second degree burn in a small area yourself.

Here are the two most important things to remember:

-You need to cool down the area immediately. Your skin will "keep burning" for a while after you have burned yourself, so keep the area under running water.

- You must let your skin breathe, so make sure it's under running water, if you submerge the are don't do it for too long. And also, of course don't put butter or oil on it. After the burning sensation goes away from the cold water, you can put some ointment or burn cream on it.

Use a humidifier when the weather gets dry

It has been pretty dry here in L.A. with the winds for the past few days. With the winter heading into high gear, if you live in a drier area, you are bound to run into very dry weather. Even if you don't live in a dry area, the heaters inside your own home can dry the air enough that it becomes a problem.

Dry air can give you dry skin and chapped lips, but can have even more serious effect on your respiratory track. Here are some tips to stay healthy on dry weather.

- Keep a hygrometer in your house. Hygrometer is the device to measure the moisture in the air. You can buy a thermometer with a hygrometer basically everywhere you can buy a humidifier. I bough mine at Target for 19 bucks.

- Keep the humidity in your house between 30 and 50 percent. Click here for EPA's guidelines

- If it's cold, use a warm mist humidifier. If it's hot, use a cool mist humidifier.

- Keep your humidifier clean. It's amazing how much dirt those things collect from the water and from the air.

More Tips To Succeed With Your New Year's Resolutions

Here are some tips from another website.

I like the "be prepared for setbacks" tip.

Setbacks will most likely happen, just as they happen with everything in life. It's what you do when they happen that will separate you from the rest.
