A recent study at The University of Western Ontario reports the sauces used to roast barbecues may offer hitherto undiscovered medical benefits. Raymond Thomas, Western biology and psychology postdoctoral fellow, who led the research, claimed that common marinades might be something more than simply tasty sauces. In fact, they can also be a rich source of natural antioxidants. Foods replete with antioxidants figure prominently in preventing cardiovascular disorders, cancers, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
