Tummy Flab Exposes Middle-Aged Women To Higher Risk Of Stroke

A new study that surfaced at the American Stroke Association's (ASA) International Stroke Conference claims women between 45 and 54 are now three times more likely that men aged similarly to face stroke. Some years back, the same researchers reported women in this age group were twice as likely as men to get stroke. The threat is real and primarily stems from the fact that middle-aged women put on more tummy fat. Although the risk factor appears to be modest, at only 3%, still that's enough cause for concern. However, certain remedial measures like exercising regularly and including more fruits and vegetables into the daily diet can help significantly.
